Someone should ask Bill Owens if he lied about Peggy Lamm supporting in for re-election in 2002 when Peggy was a “Demmocrat for Owens.” maybe Bill can clear things up for Peggy?
You mean Peggy might be fibbing about it?
No Peggy bashing for me today.
The Seventh District has larger issues to face.
Today the President is coming to use the National Renewable Energy Laboratory as a photo op.
After slashing the budget for the facillity (with the help of Bothway’s vote) to the tune of $28 million, he is coming by with a promise to restore 5 of that.
Ed Perlmutter is a director of the Midwest Research Institute, the primary operator of the lab, and has worked hard to save it.
I can think of no better way to hold the President to the empty promises he will be making tomorrow than by donating to Perlmutter’s campaign and sending Bush a Congressman who will make him accountable.
edit: I believe Ed is a trustee rather than a director.
The Washington Post has a story up now about the visit that begins…
Oh, come on, Take Back, you know you always argue the one thing that counts is seat time, and Perlmutter has spent more time in the district than Lamm. But that’s why we need a native of the district, Rick O’Donnell, in Congress! That way Ed can work for Wal-Mart, Peggy can move to El Paso County to run there and ROD can serve the people of the 7th CD. It’s a win-win.
Seat time,
Ed Perlmutter has been a life long resident of CO-7. He grew up here, and has worked and built in this community all his life. Including through his commitment to NREL.
Rick O’Donnell is still working on the ‘grew up here’ part.
The Midwest Research Institute lists Ed Perlmutter as a Trustee. They have received multi-million dollar contracts for “quality control” in Iraq. Someone ought to look into this whole MRI mess.
Take back, it’s kind of hard to be a life long resident of a district that has only existed for 3 years. ROD is a native of that area, as apparently is Perlmutter. But since the Perlmutter campaign is the one putting all the emphasis on seat time, It’s only fair that the final election should go to ROD, a native who puts the district’s interests before Wal-Marts’.
